Finally, to have hands on experience and understand ground reality, he moved to Uflex Limited, Chemicals Business in EHS field and also did a certificate course on safety from NEBOSH, UK. This experience of Chemical Industry (Ink and Adhesives manufacturing) had been truly enriching which enabled him to understand ground level issues in respect of policy, environment (air, water, waste etc.), health and safety, technology, administration and management. Here as Manager, EHS, he was responsible to ensure compliance to stipulated legal norms as well as the systems defined internally in line with integrated management system (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 31000). He also managed concerns related air pollution, water pollution, hazardous waste management and incidents analysis and investigation including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions. His light-bulb moment for sustainability happened while analyzing annual reports of global competitors with an objective to prepare an internal sustainability report. The reports impressively accentuated the transparent, strategic and well thought of sustainability efforts of companies to mitigate or nullify current and future risks. Having closely witnessed environmental issues from different viewpoints in past, he realized the need and importance of sustainable approach.
