What is your role and what does a typical day look like for you?
As an Intern on the Insights and Analytics team, my role focuses on understanding how patients, physicians, and markets interact, and how those dynamics shape business decisions. I work on a combination of research and analytical projects, from leading market research studies that explore the “why” behind observed trends to analyzing large datasets to uncover patterns and opportunities. A key part of my work is translating complex findings into actionable insights, helping teams connect data to real-world strategy. Each day brings a mix of problem-solving, collaboration, and storytelling, whether I’m synthesizing survey results, presenting insights to teams, or working with colleagues across functions. Being able to see how these pieces come together to influence decisions makes the work engaging and rewarding.
What has been the most rewarding or exciting part of your internship so far?
The most rewarding part of my internship has been seeing my work inform real business decisions. It’s exciting to know that the insights I contribute can guide strategy and help teams make more informed choices. Beyond the projects themselves, the collaborative environment has been incredibly valuable. Colleagues are generous with their time, open to questions, and invested in helping interns learn and grow. That culture of support has encouraged me to take initiative, explore new ideas, and approach challenges creatively. I’ve also enjoyed the opportunity to bridge analytical work with strategy, learning how to tell a compelling story with research findings that resonates with different audiences. These experiences have strengthened both my technical skills and my confidence in contributing meaningfully to cross-functional teams.
What skills, technical or interpersonal have you developed the most through this experience?
This internship has been an intensive experience in connecting data to meaning. On the technical side, I’ve gained confidence working with large and complex datasets, learning how to organize information, uncover patterns, and produce clear, actionable outputs. But equally important, I’ve developed my storytelling skills by transforming research findings and analytics into narratives that are easy for others to understand and apply. This experience has shown me that the most powerful insights not only inform decisions, they engage and inspire the people who will act on them. It’s strengthened both my analytical abilities and my communication skills, giving me tools that will continue to be valuable throughout my career.
How did the MBiotech program prepare you for your internship?
The MBiotech program provided a strong foundation for bridging science and business. It strengthened my scientific knowledge while emphasizing teamwork, communication, and cross-functional collaboration. Case-based learning allowed me to apply concepts to real-world scenarios, sharpening my problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. In addition, seminars and sessions with industry speakers exposed me to diverse perspectives and deepened my understanding of the biotech landscape, helping me see how scientific innovations translate into business strategy. These experiences equipped me to approach challenges from multiple angles, synthesize complex information, and contribute effectively to team projects. Overall, MBiotech prepared me not just with knowledge, but with the practical skills and confidence to thrive in a dynamic and interdisciplinary workplace.
