Heather Hines

Heather Hines, a Quebec native, has degrees in history and education as well as a Masters in Educational Administration from McGill University. Her work has taken her to Japan, where she taught English for two years, as well as to post-secondary institutions both in Quebec and Ontario.  Through her roles and over 15 years spent working in the university sector, Heather has been able to cultivate her strong interest in experiential education, student support and curriculum development and enhancement.

With the Department of Management since 2007, Heather has worked to broaden the range of programming geared towards business students. More specifically, she successfully initiated the Professional Skills Development Program (PSDP), a transcript notation program specifically tailored to the needs of Commerce and Management students.

In addition to her work within the Department, Heather has served as a staff representative on Erindale College Council, University Affairs Board and is currently a mentor in the University’s Leadership Mentoring Program. She initiated and was the first chair of the UTM Staff Experience Team (SET), and is now a Steering Committee member for Connections & Conversations, an affinity group for racialized staff. Heather is also active outside of the University where she is a member of Optimists International and serves on the Eco Committee at a local high school.
