Claire Westgate

Claire is a seasoned higher education professional with over 19 years of experience at the University of Toronto. Claire's expertise spans both academic and student services; she has contributed to the University's institutional priorities through her work in strategic initiatives, student support, career development, communications, operations, faculty support, and community engagement. 

 

Claire has a strong track record in program development, industry partnership cultivation, student success, and staff leadership. Her work has earned recognition through several awards, including the Karent Thiffault Staff Service Excellence Award, the Principal’s Award for Sustainability and the IMI Staff and IMI Team Collaboration Awards. She holds a Master of Education in Post-Secondary Studies from Memorial University a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from McGill University, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership, Higher and Adult Education at OISE. 

 

Claire is known for her tact, diplomacy, and commitment to inclusive practices and has contributed to numerous campus-wide committees and strategic frameworks that enhance student experience and institutional culture.
