UTM closes its buildings, restricts access to limit spread of COVID-19

Patricia Lonergan

U of T Mississauga buildings are now closed to students and the general public.

The decision to limit access to campus facilities is in response to Canada’s efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19 and comes after the Premier of Ontario declared a state of emergency and the Prime Minister encouraged all Canadians to stay home wherever possible.

All classrooms, labs and exterior building entrances will be locked.

The Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre will be open for limited weekday hours to students, staff and faculty for computer use. Users of the library must present a TCard when they arrive. The only open entrance to the library will be the Starbucks entrance (link to the CCT building will be closed).

Students will not have access to other campus facilities.

Those in Residence who cannot return home due to travel restrictions or other obligations can request to remain in residences and will be able to access Colman Commons Dining Hall.
