The University of Toronto Mississauga Alumni Association will award the Paul W. Fox Award to Professor Ulli Krull, vice-principal, research.

The award, which recognizes distinguished voluntary service and promotion of U of T Mississauga to the community, will be presented on May 18.

Krull, who has been a faculty member at U of T Mississauga since 1985, has a long history of involvement in a variety of campus initiatives. He was instrumental to the creation of the Master of Biotechnology program, he has lent his energy and expertise to everything from campus computing services to graduate education to continuing studies, and now oversees more than $9 million in research on campus every year.

Along with his numerous academic and professional activities-including the operation of his busy research laboratory-Krull is a familiar face at campus and community events. He lends his time to lectures, galas, academic and athletic competitions and alumni reunions, and as a member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, he has forged a relationship between the group and the campus, which has led to multiple educational events.

As one nominator put it, Ulli Krull's innovation and persistence is well respected and has helped shape UTM. His dedication and service has helped create a strong community that extends throughout the City of Mississauga and beyond.

The Alumni Association will present the award at their annual general meeting.
