Happy holidays from the University of Toronto Mississauga

As the University of Toronto Mississauga approaches its winter break, Vice-President and Principal Alexandra Gillespie is urging community members to take time to rest after a successful year.

“Reflecting on this past year fills me with pride and gratitude for all we’ve accomplished together,” says Gillespie.

Over the course of 2025, UTM launched new programs, made significant progress on constructing a new student residence, and continued to build a strong and supportive community for students, staff, faculty and librarians.

U of T also extended its strength as Canada’s leading post-secondary institution and welcomed President Melanie Woodin, the first woman to hold that office at the university.

Gillespie says her holiday wish for the community is simple.

“Take time to rest, find moments of peace, and share joy with those who matter most,” she says. “Happy holidays.”
