ITA235H5 • Cucina Italiana: Italian History and Culture Through Food

(Offered in English) This course charts the regional diversity of Italian food and examines various factors (early settlers, wars, migratory trends) that have shaped Italian culinary traditions. Students will also have the opportunity to explore their own culinary traditions. Students have the option of participating in local and international field trips (to restaurants, factories, farms). ITA233H5 • Made in Italy: Italian Fashion, from the Theatre to the Runway

(Offered in English) This course explores the transformation of Italian fashion, throughout the centuries. The course will examine the history of fashion in Italian theatre and literature, its presence in movies and television, and the impact it has had on the fashion industry, in Italy and abroad. Students have the option of participating in international field trips (to Italian fashion houses).
