You are invited to attend a Q&A session with the award-winning Italian novelist Giulia Caminito on Wednesday, March 18, at 10:00 a.m.
Caminito will join students from ITA351H5S: Creative Writing in Italian Studies for a virtual conversation via Zoom. The conversation will focus on her third novel, L’acqua del lago non è mai dolce (The Lake’s Water Is Never Sweet, 2021). Set in the early 1990s, the novel follows Gaia, who lives with her parents and siblings in a small, twenty-square-meter room on the outskirts of Rome. The novel was shortlisted for the Premio Strega in 2021, won both the Premio Strega Off and the prestigious Premio Campiello, and became a bestseller in Italy. It has since been translated into more than twenty languages. Giulia Caminito made her literary debut in 2016 with the novel La grande A (The Big A). In 2024 she published her fourth novel, Il male che non c’è, followed in 2025 by Amatissime.
