French Studies and Education Studies Students Win Student Leadership Awards!

We're happy to share the good news that three of our students are recipients of this year's UTM Student Leadership Awards! These awards are given by the Centre for Student Engagement and UTM to recognize students and student groups for their work outside of the classroom to exemplify core values of UTM.
Kanza Abbasi (Biology for Health Sciences, Education Studies, Biomedical Communications), Sacha Samouk (Anthropology, Education Studies), and Sidoné Grange (Biology for Health Sciences, Sociology, French Studies) won the 2025 University of Toronto Student Leadership Award, which recognizes students in their final year of studies with at least one year of significant volunteer leadership and high-impact service.
Sacha and Sidoné also received the Principal's Award of Excellence, a 2025 University of Toronto Mississauga Leadership Achievement Award, which is awarded to students who have demonstrated an outstanding level of leadership in at least three key UTM values over the course of their university careers, with significant benefits to the UTM community.
Sacha received the additional honour of the UTM Leadership Achievement Award in Equity and Inclusion, which recognizes an outstanding student who has demonstrated a commitment to EDI principles, contributing to a more inclusive UTM campus through meaningful initiatives.
Congratulations to Kanza, Sacha, and Sidoné on winning these awards!
