UTM I&ITS Jermaine Ingram receives True Blue Award
UTM I&ITS Multimedia & Classroom Technology Specialist Jermaine Ingram has earned a True Blue award for his diligent work helping a professor make the jump from UTSG to UTM.
Vice-Dean of Teaching & Learning Heather Miller nominated Ingram for smoothing the technical problems the professor encountered during the onboarding process in the Winter semester.
This is Ingram’s first True Blue nomination, although he also recently earned the UTM Principal’s Staff Award for Advancing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for his work as a member of UTM's Connections & Conversations (C&C) Executive Committee. The C&C group provides support for staff who self-identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC).
Ingram has been a Multimedia & Classroom Technology Specialist with UTM since 2019, designing and trouble-shooting classroom technology systems, including assisting with A/V equipment, video conferences and webinars and creating instructional videos. During the pandemic, he has been focused on supporting faculty, staff and students transitioning from in-person to remote working.
True Blue awards recognize those who best exemplify UTM’s valued behaviours in areas such as citizenship, collaboration, equity, innovation, leadership and service. Nominations can be made at the True Blue Program website.
