Remote access now available for computer teaching labs
I&ITS has been working hard to make sure that if you can’t come to the computer labs, the computer labs can come you.
Like many aspects of life on the UTM campus this semester, the computer teaching lab has gone remote. All you need to gain access is Citrix Workspace installed on your local computer.
How do you want to use a computer?
During a class?
You will be able to connect remotely to lab computers (CC 1160, CC 2130, CC 2140, CC 2160 and CC 3160) and their software during your scheduled class time, but access will end promptly at the end of the class. Be warned that that work not saved at that time cannot be recovered.
Outside of class hours?
When classes are finished at 6pm, remote access to the lab computers will be available to any student. For more information, see the Remote Computer Labs and Software page.
Just need the software?
Virtualized applications, which don’t require connection to a physical computer, can be accessed at any time and aren’t subject to time restrictions. For a list of UTM virtualized applications, see the knowledge base article on Remote Lab Access.
For those looking to work on campus, library computers can be reserved for one or two hours at a time. You can only book spots up to one week in advance (no more than three bookings at a time). To use a library computer, you will need to show confirmation email and ID to security. To book, visit UTM Library's Study Space page.
CCT Computer Labs are also available during business hours, after 6pm when classes are finished.
