Marie-Hélène Westgate is a writer and editor from Montréal. She is a former sex and gender columnist for Psychology Today whose work has appeared under various pen names in The Atlantic, Believer, Bitch, Book Forum, broken pencil, Bust, Everyone is Gay, Full Stop, Guernica, Hellogiggles, The Huffington Post, Jezebel, Ms. Magazine, Original Plumbing, Plenitude Magazine, Shameless, Slice, and Tin House. Marie-Hélène earned her BFA in Nonfiction and BA in Gender Studies from the University of British-Columbia, and her MFA in Nonfiction from Sarah Lawrence College. She enjoys cooking, watching sad French movies, and dancing. Her collection of melancholy queer essays is forthcoming.
