Build a Robot Avatar: Basics of 3D Modelling using Rhino Animations and computer-generated imagery (CGI) in movies and TV, as well as manufactured products, buildings, and infrastructure all share a common origin: a 3D model in virtual space. This model is both a design and communication tool for developing objects before deployment into media or fabrication. In this workshop participants will learn the basic concepts of creating in a 3D world, and use Rhino3D to model and customize a robot avatar.
In this workshop, students will:
- Gain an understanding of terminology and concepts of working in a 3D space
- Learn concepts of interoperability between platforms, and use this knowledge to construct workflows for various projects
- Learn the interface in Rhino 3D and use a range of common modelling tools
- Practice using the tools presented to customize and pose a robot
Students must have access to “Rhino 7” to participate in this workshop. If you do not have a license to the software, you can download a free trial version via https://www.rhino3d.com/download/
