Upper Year Residence Guarantees

Undergraduate Indigenous Student Guarantee

Actively enrolled students who successfully complete the required application and application fee by the upper year application deadline, meet minimum returning eligibility requirements, and self-identify as an Indigenous student*, will be guaranteed a room in residence for the academic year. Room and roommate preferences are not guaranteed. 

*Preference will be given to candidates who self-identify as Indigenous. Recognizing that there are a variety of terms that potential candidates may use to self-identify, the University uses the term “Indigenous” in this search, which forms part of the U of T Response to Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission, to encompass the people of Turtle Island, including those who identify as First Nations, Métis, Inuk (Inuit), Alaska Native, Native American, and Native Hawaiian people. Residence Community Ambassador (RCA) Guarantee

RCAs will be upper year students living in residence, who will be required to assist with Residence Orientation events, such as Move-In Day & marquee events, while also helping to prepare for student arrival. Students interested in the RCA guarantee will need to apply to residence and the complete the Supplementary Application by all dates and deadlines. Biology Living Learning Community (BioLLC) Guarantee

The Biology Living Learning Community (Bio LLC) is a residentially based community for students enrolled in BIO208 & BIO209 during the academic year. Students will live in residence in a common community and will be registered in the same tutorial for BIO208 & BIO209 as a cohort. Participation in the Bio LLC will centre upon community building, professional skill development, and enhanced faculty-student interaction. 

Indicate your interest in an LLC through your StarRez application and fill out the Supplementary Application. Those who fill out the Supplementary Application will be given preference, as participants are selected based on the quality of their application. Click the buttons below to learn more about each Living Learning Community!
