Program & Service Updates re: COVID19

Food Service:

  • Food Service Locations:

    • Colman Commons (in Oscar Peterson Hall) is currently open for takeout and pickup food orders. They also have limited indoor seating as per the Peel Region Public Health regulations.

      • Hours of Operation:

        • Monday - Friday | 8 am - 9 pm (excluding holidays)

        • Weekends | 10 am - 8 pm (excluding holidays)

    • The Davis Food Court (in the William G. Davis building) offers Grab 'n Go options including salads, wraps, sandwiches, FRESHII options, and other to-go selections.

      • Hours of Operation:

        • Monday - Friday | 8:30 am - 2:30 pm (excluding holidays)

        • Weekends | closed

  • Operating Procedures:

    • Salads are packaged and soups are being served
    • The UTM "BYOC" programs have been suspended
    • All fruits and in-house baked items have been wrapped for protection
    • All cutlery has been wrapped for protection
    • All self-serve condiment stations will offer single-use condiment packets
    • Milk and milk alternatives will be handled only by associates behind the counter
    • All fountain beverage cups will be handled only by associates behind the counter
    • Colman Commons will continue with self-serve Fair Trade coffee and tea, however they have increased the frequency with which they are sanitizing the station

Meal Plans:

We emailed all students who moved out of residence before March 23rd to inform them of their final meal plan balances and subsequent carryover amounts based on the recent meal plan policy changes.

  • 2019-2020 Rez CarryOver balances are now available on TCards
  • 2018-2019 Rez CarryOver balances have been extended to April 30, 2021

We have extended the deadline for changing your meal plan to November 30, 2020.

Off-Campus Food Partners:

  • ​Pita Pit delivery through Uber Eats, Skip the Dishes, etc. & is still available for meal plan students
  • Please contact Pizza Pizza and Burger’s Priest directly for updates on their delivery service

The Print Shop:

  • The Print Shop staff will be utilizing masks, practising social distancing, and following effective sanitization processes in order to continue to service the UTM community.

  • We will be using a new pickup system (for students) through the Hospitality & Retail Services information booth upstairs in The Meeting Place (open Monday - Friday 10am - 2pm, excluding holidays) to ensure the health and safety of both the UTM community, as well as our staff. We will continue to deliver directly to staff & faculty. 

  • Should you require consulting services, please contact The Print Shop via phone or email. 

  • All submissions for new jobs should be done through the Service Now portal

  • Should you need to physically drop off files, please contact The Print Shop via phone or email to coordinate.

Mail Services:

  • Incoming Canada Post and Inter-Campus deliveries and pickups are also continuing daily at UTM. 

  • If your department is OPEN: Mail delivery and pickup around campus will also continue as per our usual daily mail runs.

  • If your department is CLOSED but:
    • Your department still has staff on site to receive mail; and/or
    • Your department is expecting or needs to make an important and timely delivery through Canada Post or Inter-Campus Courier
      • Please notify UTM Mail (mail.utm@utoronto.ca) so that we can either include your department in the usual mail rounds or ensure that your expected deliveries are taken care of. 

  • Please visit Canada Post’s website for specific updates from Canada Post.
  • Effective March 24, to align ourselves with Canada Post’s latest update on their delivery procedures, UTM Mail Services will no longer require signatures from departments for items that typically would require a signature.

Conferences & Events:

  • Please reach out to your designated Special Events Coordinator in order to learn more about the updated room capacities, policies & procedures, and the new Events Assessment Tool (E.A.T.) process. If you do not have a designated Coordinator, please contact confserv.utm@utoronto.ca or (905) 569-4421 for assisstance. 

  • We are also recommending that events be considered for transition to virtual meetings where possible, and postponement where virtual meetings are not feasible and where alternate dates in 2021 are possible. Those planning meetings need to bear in mind that physical distancing requirements will likely remain in place as well as international travel restrictions.

  • For departments who use our central shredding drop-off service, please note that the shredding pickup and destruction service is operational
