Wellness at Home
Wellness at Home is a new online initiative featuring daily wellness workshops, activities, and resources from Mondays through Fridays. Brought to you by the University of Toronto Mississauga: Health & Counselling Centre (HCC). Open to all UofT students.
Mindful Monday: Mindfulness Meditation
Start your week off by taking time to be in the present moment and becoming aligned with your goals for the days ahead. Our weekly Mindfulness Meditation class is led by HCC Counselling Staff and requires no experience to participate!

Tea Talk Tuesday
Looking to connect with other students? BYOT (bring your own tea) and connect with fellow peers for some good conversation as we tackle a different wellness topic each week. Student-led and judgment-free.

What's in a Breath? Simple Meditation Techniques for Positive Mental Health
Dr. Norman Farb | UTM Department of Psychology
In this workshop, Prof. Farb will discuss the role of meditation in promoting mental health and well-being. We will explore 2 different techniques: one for calming the mind and finding relief from stress, and a second for re-engaging with life and exploring new solutions to our most chronic concerns. No experience necessary! We'll talk a bit about the science and theory and then try to focus on practice.
Building Resilience: What's my Identity got to do with it?

Myth Busting the "Quarantine-19"

During quarantine, there have been a lot of pressure to focus on and control your body shape/size through rigit diet and exercise. This sometimes led to increase of misinformation and encouragement of unhealthy practices, negatively impacting our mental health. Join us as we dismantle the misinformation behind "Quarantine-19" with a Q&A session and provide you with strategies to manage unhealthy thoughts and nourish yourself in compassionate and healthy ways.

The Healing Powers of Movement

Join us for some feel good movement and breath practices to keep your mind and body feeling its best. We will explore restorative self-care practices with an emphasis on healing movement practices. Students will be invited to participate in a low-intensity mobility and physical recovery stretch session followed by a short mindful breathing meditation. Students can expect to leave the session feeling informed, relaxed, restored, and re-energized.

Join the HCC's Dietitian, Kimberly Green, for a weekly live cooking tutorial on Instagram Live, based on one of her signature, healthy, and budget-friendly recipes.

Today I Rise....Affirmations of Self Love - Postponed
Rebeckah Price | Hart House
This gentle restorative yoga class will create moments of rest to connect to self and listen to your inner voice. We will begin in conversation and reflection by asking ourselves some journal prompts that connect us to our inner selves and provide space for us to dig deeper. After restorative yoga you will be guided through a self love meditation to root you into the space of self affirmation. We will then close out and pause in reflection as we all cultivate our our affirmations rooted in self love.
Get inspired to cook at home with the HCC's Dietitian, Kimberly Green! Featuring a unique recipe every Friday on the @WellnessatUTM Instagram account (served up with some nutritional advice, tips and tricks), followed by a live cooking tutorial the following Wednesday on Instagram.
