The Wellness Den is a student space on campus that features weekly, drop-in wellness opportunities to support learning and success. Open to all UTM students. Brought to you by the UTM Health & Counselling Centre.

Wellness 101: Coping with Exam Anxiety

Led by PSP Mentors, and HCC Health Promotion Nurses

We know that midterms, finals and exams can be a challenging time for students. Yet, dealing with anxiety does not have to be part of that challenge! Join us to learn and practice effective coping strategies to support you in high-pressure situations, like test-taking. After this session, you will leave with practical tips you can use to support your learning success! 

Wellness 101: Crafting Well-balanced Well-being

Feeling like you are juggling a lot right now? You are not alone. Developing an effective goal can help you feel less overwhelmed! Join us as we chat about the importance of effective goal setting and managing concerns around procrastination. This session includes a guided reflection and a collaborative, goal-setting exercise to combat procrastination and excess anxiety, followed by a BONUS fun craft session. You can choose between making "affirmation" bracelets and "well-being" cootie catchers. Hope to see you there!

Wellness 101: Healing Through Community

Led by Myla Cooper, MSW Placement Student | UTM Health & Counselling Centre. 

Join us for a community circle where we will get to know each other and share about our respective communities while building communities. As a group, we will also be engaging in art as a wellness practice, come ready to engage with art material! 

This session is part of the BIPOC wellness series: art-based workshops that focus on Black, Indigenous People Of Colour well-being and mental health. Students can expect a supportive and caring environment to express challenges faced due to social location and lived experience. Light refreshments and art materials will be provided.
