Let's Talk UTM

On January 29, 2020, please join us from 11am-2pm in the CCT Atrium for the 3rd annual Let's Talk UTM, a campus-wide mental health event in support of Bell Let's Talk Day.

Let’s Talk UTM aims to bring together students, staff, and faculty in an effort to promote open conversations around mental health. By sharing the stories and lived experiences of members of our community, we hope to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and mental health, and help make UTM a more open and inclusive campus environment.

Come and explore the Stories of Resiliency Photo Exhibit, learn about mental health resources and supports in our community, pick up your FREE self-care bag & Bell Let's Talk toque, and much more!

Interested in sharing your Story of Resiliency?

We’re asking students, staff, faculty, and alumni how they were able to bounce back from adverse situations and how to build resiliency and grit. Stories will be featured at the Let's Talk UTM event and throughout campus.

To participate, email your responses to the following 3 questions to wellness.utm@utoronto.ca by Jan 20, 2020:

  •     What does mental health mean to you?
  •     What is a mental health-related challenge you have overcome or are currently facing?
  •     What coping strategies and resources have you found personally helpful and would like to share with other students?

Following your submission, we will contact you to set up a brief appointment to finalize your profile and get your photo taken. All profiles will receive final approval by the participant before they are publicly released.
