The UTM Growth Facilities (research greenhouse and growth chambers) are valuable resources for interdepartmental plant and animal research at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus.

In the Research Greenhouse, we have five environmentally controlled glasshouses and additional storage and experimental preparatory and processing areas. Our Growth Facilities include 14 reach-in and 9 walk-in growth chambers with sophisticated controls in lighting, humidity and temperature.  Here, researchers from the Departments of Biology and Geography perform research on different aspects of biology from abiotic stress physiology to epigenetics, biochemistry and evolutionary ecology. We investigate various species including many angiosperms such as grass and trees.

You are welcome to explore what we have to offer. Due to COVID19, we are not offering any in-person tours of the facilities.  For virtual tours, please contact us.
