UTM Graduate Student Summer Gym Bursary

Applications for 2026 Summer Gym Bursary 

 

Award Overview 

The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) in collaboration with UTM's Office of the Vice-Principal Academic & Dean (OVPAD) are committed to graduate students' well-being. To encourage them to stay active over the summer months, SGS and OVPAD are providing a summer gym bursary for eligible graduate students who purchase a 2026 Recreation, Athletics & Wellness Centre (RAWC) Student Membership (Summer) gym membership. 

 

Eligibility 

Applicants must: 

  • Be a U of T graduate student in a master’s or doctoral program; 
  • Be registered full-time for the summer 2026 session; 
  • Have purchased, in-person, a full or partial Student Membership (Summer) from the Recreation, Athletics & Wellness Centre (RAWC) 
  • Have valid proof of purchase (i.e., receipt) from the RAWC  

Note that eligible U of T graduate students can only receive one U of T bursary per summer session (i.e., UTM Graduate Student Gym Bursary, UTSC Graduate Student Gym Rebate or SGS Summer Gym Bursary).

Students will be reimbursed up to $234.16 of the summer gym membership. The membership fee is pro-rated on a daily basis.  

Note: The Graduate Student Summer Gym Bursary is paid out via ACORN/ROSI. The funds will be deposited directly into your student account (i.e., not your bank account). 

 

Application Process 

Registered students can access the online UTM Summer Gym Bursary Form beginning on mid-May, 2026 through to August 31, 2026.  

Please note: 

  • The RAWC’s Student Membership can only be purchased in-person; 
  • The application cannot be modified after submission; and 
  • Proof of payment must be uploaded as a PDF, JPEG, or JPG file. 

 

Results 

Payment to students will be processed on a monthly basis. To ensure that there is no delay in receiving your bursary, make sure that you have direct deposit set up on your ACORN account. 

Results for the UTM Summer Gym Bursary application will be provided on a monthly basis. Applicants will receive an email notification via their U of T email address.
