Biography

Hugh Gunz has PhDs in Chemistry and Organizational Behaviour, is Professor of Organizational Behaviour in UTM's Department of Management and at the Rotman School of Management, and serves as the inaugural Director of the Institute for Management and Innovation, University of Toronto Mississauga. He has previously served as Chair and Associate Chair and Director of Undergraduate Programs for UTM's Department of Management. He has published papers on the careers of managers, professionals and others, the management of technical professionals, and management education; is author of the book Careers and Corporate Cultures (1989), and the co-editor of Managing Complexity in Organizations (1999) and the Handbook of Career Studies (2007).

A former chair of the Careers Division of the Academy of Management, he has served on the editorial boards of a number of journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Managerial Psychology, Emergence, and the Journal of Professions and Organization. 

Hugh is a member of the Governing Council of University of Toronto, and has served on the UTM Campus Council and Agenda Committee as Vice-Chair, and as a member on the Campus Affairs Committee.  He is currently in his second term.
