Research and Professional Interests

My work involves the use of tree rings to study the climate of the last millennium of the Mackenzie Delta, Northwest Territories. My research notably uses an optically-derived tree ring density proxy known as blue intensity to develop a 900-year summer temperature reconstruction of the region. This research also focuses on extending the tree ring record of the Mackenzie Delta using subfossil logs preserved at the bottom of lakes. Fun!

Why Geography, Geomatics and Environment at UTM?

I chose UTM because of its paleoclimate lab and the opportunity to do Arctic climate research with a great supervisor.
