Christina Gagliano-VeigaMA Student Dr. Laurel Besco, supervisor
Research and Professional Interests
My current research looks at the development of green buildings and standards across Canada. I plan to specifically explore the factors that influence certified green buildings, such as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), in urban and rural areas. I am interested in what lessons we can learn from the successful uptake of green buildings for similar green initiatives.
Having done environmental management studies in my undergrad, I plan to take an interdisciplinary approach to my research.
Why Geography at UTM?
I had not considered a Masters until my last year of undergrad, having been given the amazing opportunity to work with my current supervisor, Dr. Laurel Besco. The geography department at UTM is such a close and welcoming community that I am always given the opportunity to learn and develop myself as new researcher!
