Mentorship Experiences

Following the University of Toronto’s most recent update on the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been recommended to postpone or cancel all discretionary events. As a result, we will be cancelling all Mentorship Experiences.

While we are disappointed that we can’t welcome you to campus for our Mentorship Experiences, we will let you know about expanded opportunities to connect with us virtually, and will update you on plans if these events get rescheduled. Be assured that we are here to support you through the admission process and to respond to any questions that you might have about your application, academic programs, and student life.

Starting university can be a bit overwhelming - unfamiliar territory, new learning environment, changing routines, new classmates... would you like to have an insider's perspective on what to expect? With our Mentorship experiences, you can have the opportunity to spend some time with a university student to learn about what it's really like to be at university. At U of T Mississauga, you have two unique opportunities to take advantage of:

Your Black Student Ambassador may be better able to reflect your experiences, support your academic goal setting, and address concerns while providing clarity to help you to make a more informed decision about attending the University. Your day with us will also include a lunch voucher!

Student Testimonial
"My experience has quite frankly surpassed my expectations, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent shadowing a student who has already made themselves comfortable with the inner workings of the UTM environment. I am very grateful for all the things I was able to learn today, and it was a privilege to experience the greatness of UTM from a different perspective."
- Sean from St. Francis Xavier High School
