Make a successful academic, social, and personal transition to your university experience withour orientation and transition programs. Review checklists, learn about deadlines, and find out about supports and resources available to a new student.
Start early with summer events, such as UTM Head Start, a series of interactive, discipline-specific sessions led by faculty, librarians, and staff; the Summer Transition Program for Students with Learning Disabilities; New Student Advising, and Eagle2Eagle, where upper-year students answer questions a new student may have.
Beginning in May of each year, a number of options are available to new students who require additional support:
- Live Chat: Ask any of our summer support leader questions while on the New Student Website with the Live Chat option, available 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Canadian holidays).
- Email: Email firstname.lastname@example.org if have you any questions about the pre-arrival processes. A student support leader will happily respond within 48 hours.
- Request a Call: If you have questions about the pre-arrival process and would like to speak with a student support leader, you may request-a-call during the summer months.
Delve into university life with orientation events. Meet other students, faculty and staff and take part in engaging events and activities including O-Week, Residence Orientation, International Orientation and the UTM Student Union Orientation.
Gain key skills and knowledge to maximize your experience as a UTM student through programs such as LAUNCH, a series of interactive weekly sessions run by upper-year student mentors to foster community and academic success, Facilitated Study Groups, utmONE and utmONE Scholars, courses designed to support your academic success.
