Update: Notification of Closure on Outer Circle, near Central Utilities Plant and drop off area for HMALC
Due to unexpected conditions, Outer Circle Road across from the Central Utilities Plant (CUP) continues to have a section closed to traffic, resulting in single-lane traffic.
This closure is to allow for repairs to underground utilities tunnel for project UTM2020-21-14 CUP Tunnel Repairs.
The closure will be in 2 phases and the one-way traffic will be controlled via traffic lights, but please expect delays.
- For Phase 1, a small segment of Outer Circle Road located across from the CUP will be closed. A demarcated detour for one-way traffic, controlled by traffic lights, has been created through the drop-off lane in front of the Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre (HMALC) for both vehicles and pedestrians.
Civil Works, Repairs to Underground Utilities Tunnel
On Outer Circle Road, near HMALC and CUP
Continuing from Aug 20th, 2021 until November, 2021
HOW THIS WILL AFFECT YOU:
Please refer to the attached drawing showing the detour and revised pedestrian route. Signs and traffic lights will be used to safely manage traffic through the detour in this area.
In case of high-volume traffic, flag personnel will be present to facilitate efficient traffic flow. Some traffic delays may be expected.
The worksite will be fenced off, but no existing sidewalks for pedestrian traffic are expected to be closed.
This work will be noisy and may affect the activities of individuals or groups in neighboring areas. Please be aware if you have scheduled outdoor activities near this site during the duration of construction.
Safety is our foremost concern. During this construction period, campus users and visitors are encouraged to enter and exit campus through either the Main entrance to Mississauga Road, or the South Entrance at Collegeway and Mississauga Road.
Access to the North entrance will not be closed, however, delays should be expected. Your patience and consideration are appreciated.
