ROP Information Sessions for Faculty & Staff

The Experiential Education Unit, Office of the Vice-Principal Academic and Dean, is pleased to offer Information Sessions on the Research Opportunity Program (ROP) for faculty members, and their support staff, who wish to offer projects for the 2024-2025 season. 

We encourage faculty and staff to join us, virtually, on January 10 or January 31, 2024, to learn more about the ROP and the resources available to support the Program.

Topics during the Information Session will include:

• How to create an ROP course
• How to submit funding proposals (including items for eligibility)
• Course requirements (including prerequisites, contract information, ROP grade submission, etc.)
• Ethics & Safety 
• Navigating the ROPAPP online system

Please select one session option in your registration response. The same presentation will be offered at both sessions. 

ROP Information Session for Faculty & Staff 
Date: Wednesday, January 10, 2024 
Time: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm 
Location: Virtual (virtual meeting details to be provided to registrants prior to the Session) 
OR 
Date: Wednesday, January 31, 2024 
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm 
Location: Virtual (virtual meeting details to be provided to registrants prior to the Session)

Note: Both Sessions will have the same content.

ROP Information Session for Students

The Experiential Education Unit, Office of the Vice-Principal Academic and Dean, will be offering Information Sessions on the Research Opportunity Program (ROP) for all students. We encourage students to join us in-person for the presentation and discussion to learn more about the ROP and available resources, such as the Program for Accessing Research Training (PART).

Topics during the information session will include:

• Benefits to students
• Student eligibility
• Course requirements (including prerequisites and contract information)
• Policies and guidelines
• Preparing an ROP application submission
• PART
