One-Year Part-time (60%) Limited Term Appointment in Analytical Chemistry

The Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences (https://www.utm.utoronto.ca/cps/welcome-cps), at the University of Toronto (https://www.utm.utoronto.ca/), invites applications for a one year, part-time (60%) Limited Term Lecturer position in the field of Analytical Chemistry beginning July 1, 2020, or shortly thereafter.

Preference is given to candidates who have a PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline at the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. We specifically seek candidates with a background in Analytical Chemistry. The successful candidate will be expected to teach three semester-long courses at the undergraduate level, mentor undergraduate students, and contribute in service roles within the department. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.

Excellence in teaching may be evidenced by teaching accomplishments highlighted in the CV and cover letter, the teaching statement or dossier (dossier may include a teaching statement, sample course materials and teaching evaluations), strong letters of reference that specifically address the candidate’s qualities and potential as a teacher and mentor, and evidence of strong communication and expository skills (as demonstrated by performance as a teaching assistant or course instructor, experience leading successful workshops or seminars, or excellent conference posters and presentations). We also seek candidates with experience working with, teaching, or mentoring diverse students.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
