9 things to do before returning to campus in 2022
Updated January 31: In-person learning for all courses – graduate and undergraduate – will increase on Monday, Feb. 7, 2022. For the latest updates, see this UTM news story and the Information for Students page.
The Winter 2022 semester will see the majority of classes offered in-person, which means back-to-school also means back-to-campus.
For those who’ve been studying from home until now, here are a few things to add to your ‘to do’ list to help make the transition smoother:
Passes
First, you’re going to need to get here, so you’ll probably need either a parking pass or a transit UPass.
Masks
Stay up-to-date on all of the COVID-19 prevention measures, including wearing a medical face mask in all indoor spaces. Take mask down for a bite or sip, then put it back up; repeat as needed!
TCard
Planning to access libraries, athletic facilities, exams, meal plans, the online learning portal or printing services while on campus? Everything needs a TCard, so if you don’t have it yet, pick it up at UTM Service Desk located in CCT0160.

UCheck
You’ll need daily UCheck approval to attend campus in-person. Upload your vaccine record and bookmark the online UCheck questionnaire or print out the form.
Set up a reminder on your phone. Be ready to present your approval screen to UTM’s roving Green Ambassadors.
Maps
Make sure you know where you need to be and when — check your schedule and find your classrooms and campus’ food spots.
Locker
Since you won’t be able to just spread your stuff out on your coffee table anymore, you may need to rent a locker from the Student Centre. (Grab some discounted movie and Wonderland tickets while you are there.)
Bookstore
If pajamas have been your daily dress code, time to switch up your wardrobe. Look the part with U of T swag from the bookstore. Maybe throw a few textbooks in your cart while you’re there.

Clubs
One of the best parts of being back in person is the chance to interact with fellow students. Find a club on campus to match your interests.
RAWC
If the couch has been your home base during lockdown, time to get your heart pumping again. Check out the Recreation, Athletics and Wellness Centre’s (RAWC) schedule for some fun options.
