Campus Status: What's open on the UTM campus?

The University of Toronto has implemented a temporary policy requiring non-medical masks or face coverings to be worn indoors in all indoor spaces  on all three campuses. This includes public spaces such as classrooms, hallways, lobbies and elevators, as well as restricted-use spaces.

A UCheck COVID-19 self-assessment is now required for all members of our community the University of Toronto has implemented a temporary policy requiring non-medical masks or face coverings to be worn indoors in common-use spaces including classrooms, hallways, lobbies and elevators on university property on all three campuses.

There are two ways that individuals can complete the required self-assessment and generate a risk status each time they come to U of T: by using UCheck, or by completing a paper-based or offline self-assessment log. More details on how to use UCheck, including how we are keeping self-assessment data private, are available in the FAQs on the UCheck website. 


Building Access, Campus Police escort and WorkAlone services

All buildings on the UTM campus are closed to visitors, with the exception of the Davis, IB and CCT buildings, which are open as follows:

  • 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday
  • 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday
  • Buildings with scheduled in-person classes are open during applicable operating hours.

After-Hours Building Access and Authorization

Authorized staff, faculty and librarians may enter the Davis Building outside of operating hours via the main entrance on Inner Circle Road by using their TCard at the swipe card entrance located there.

Faculty members who require regular access to office space and do not have key/card access should contact their department manager. For occasional access, please contact Campus Police upon arrival to campus.

Faculty members who are teaching online but require access to a specific room to do so should contact Heather Miller, of the Office of the Vice-Principal Academic and Dean, and Campus Police to arrange for access.

Campus Police Escort and WorkAlone Services

Persons who for any reason are uncomfortable being on campus, or who are working in remote areas of the campus, may contact the Campus Police WorkAlone program for assistance at 905-828-5200.

Campus Police Escorts are available to accompany community members to locations around campus, including parking lots, transit stops and other locations. For assistance, please call 905-828-5200.

Contact Campus Police:

The University of Toronto Mississauga Campus Police office is located in Room 3116 of the Davis Building. Officers are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.  

Hospitality & Retail Services

Information & Instructional Technology

Student walk-up support is available at the UTM Service Desk in the CCT Atrium.

In-person hours at the Service Desk and HSC 175 is available Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  

Staff and faculty may access support for booked, drop-off appointments using MS Bookings. The locations will be the UTM Service Desk and HSC 175.  

Remote support is available from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m.  to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Office of the Registrar

The front desk is currently closed for in-person inquiries. For remote assistance, please visit the Office of the Registrar website where you will find hours of operation, phone and social media contacts and access the new online AskRegistrar service.

UTM Library

The main floor of the UTM Library is open effective Monday, Jan. 11, 2021.

The Library’s hours are: 

  • Monday to Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 
  • Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
  • Saturday and Sunday: Closed 

The main floor will be open to members of the university community for access to essential technoloyg, inluding computer workstations, printersand Wi-Fi. Access to the other floors, including the Library stack collection, is currently unavailable. 

When the Library is open, patrons must reserve a space in advance, then present their identification and booking confirmation to enter. In accordance with current public health measures, a maximum of 10 patrons are permitted in the Library at any time. 

 The UTM Library Curbside Pickup Service provides access to items from the Library’s stack collection that are not available digitally. Research help is available via live chat, the Zoom reference service, or by contacting liaison librarians directly.

Student Services Info Desk

The Student Affairs Info Desk offers help with information about services and support on campus, and tips on how to engage with other students and UTM community. The Info Desk is located in DV2077.

  • Monday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
