If you are graduating in June or November of 2019, or are a recent graduate, this conference is for you!
Smart Job Hunting takes place on Tuesday, April 30 & Wednesday, May 1, 2019.

This two-day event will help you:

  • Hear from recruiters about what they look for in candidates on resumes, cover letters and in interviews
  • Learn from industry professionals from a variety of areas during our networking panel
  • Learn how to find a job and identify skills that you have that employers need
  • Develop skills you will need throughout your career, such as resume and cover letter writing, interviewing and networking
  • Get a professional LinkedIn photo
  • Gain access to full-time job postings offered to U of T students from hundreds of employers!

Job searching is a skill, and good job searchers can land good jobs! Begin or continue to build your own network with peers and industry professionals. In addition, there will be an opportunity to meet and talk with various industry professionals at the end of Day 2.

***FREE LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED ON BOTH DAYS***

What to Bring 

  • A notepad and a pen.
  • A printed copy of your resume and cover letter as you will have the opportunity to update them.
  • A sample job posting to which you are interested (optional)

Latecomers

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30. Please arrive by 9:15 am to sign in to avoid losing your spot. Latecomers will not be admitted after 9:30.

Please note that this is a two-day event and we ask for your commitment to attend both days.
 

Dress Code

  • Hear from and meet UTM alumni and industry professionals at a networking panel and get tips on how to transition into the workforce
  • Improve and practice interview skills
  • Improve and practice networking skills
  • Find out different ways of finding jobs whether they are advertised or unadvertised
  • Career Hacks Fair - hands-on activities to hone your job search skills, featuring a LinkedIn photo booth and mini resume reviews

 

Registration 

Please register at CLNx or call the Career Centre at (905) 828-5451 or by email careers.utm@utoronto.ca. When you register for Day 1 of this conference, you will be automatically registered for Day 2.

If you need work in determining your job focus, attend Smart Job Goals Start Here, a two-hour workshop on April 29 that will provide you with tools/resources to find your focus. You will need to register separately for this workshop.
