*update*: Faisal Haq Shaheen currently works as a Management Analyst with the City of Toronto.
Faisal currently serves as a Business Management Analyst with the City of Toronto. His 12 years of experience includes marketing management and business development within the manufacturing and environmental technology sectors. His current portfolio of responsibilities includes corporate strategic development, management operations improvement, performance measurement and project management.
Faisal also serves as a Visiting Research Associate with Islamabad’s Sustainable Development Policy Institute where he focuses on political economy and development issues including regional trade, sustainable development and resource management. He also serves as an advisor to the Punjab Government’s Urban Unit on municipal management issues. His research continues as a doctoral student in the Policy Studies PhD program at Ryerson University, where his research interests include informal sector governance, regional trade flows in the global south, sustainable development and public policy and administration within developing countries.
Faisal is an alumnus of Ryerson University where he recently completed a Masters in Public Policy and Administration. Faisal is also an alumnus of York University where he completed an MBA in Business and Environment from the Schulich School of Business. Prior to that, Faisal completed an Honors Baccalaureate in Biology and Environmental Science from the University of Toronto. In his spare time, Faisal balances training in the martial arts with the study of classical Indian music.
