Research
My research focuses on understanding the origin, evolution and population structure of bacterial pathogens, with the goal of identifying key factors that drive genetic diversity, adaptation, and evolution in response to host resistance and environmental conditions, as well as the emergence of new species within the genus. I am particularly interested in the role of mobile genetic elements (MGEs) in shaping pathogen evolution and host-microbe interactions. By integrating genomics, molecular biology, and computational approaches, my work aims to unravel the complex dynamics underlying bacterial adaptation and evolution.
