Last month, PhD student Anya Franks (Phillips Lab) traveled to Brisbane, Australia for the TerpNet 2025 conference where she won Best Graduate Student Poster Presentation!

TerpNet is a biannual, international conference organized by leading terpene chemists and biochemists from around the globe. Held at the Rydges South Bank convention center in beautiful Brisbane, the conference featured over 200 attendees. Despite intense competition, Anya took home the first-place poster award for her presentation entitled, “A Synthetic Carbon Assimilation Shunt Boosts Terpenoid Biosynthesis in Plants”.

This well-deserved award highlights her contributions to terpene synthetic biology.

Congratulations, Anya!
