Big data technology is poised to disrupt accounting and finance-related ecosystems. These industries are undergoing a cathartic self-reflection process to examine their role in this rapidly changing, data-rich environment. Big data’s impact across all of these domains — including government, education, healthcare, and the arts — mandates cross-disciplinary interaction, provided by the BIGDataAIHUB (BDAIH).

The BDAIH is a research cluster under the leadership of the Institute for Management & Innovation (IMI) at the University of Toronto. The BDAIH is an interdisciplinary space for all faculty members and external stakeholders to discuss the increasing prominence of big data. BDAIH focuses mainly on three cross-disciplinary themes:

  • The interaction of big data with people

  • Big data and technology

  • Systems and governance

Read more about the main cross-disciplinary themes under BDAIH.

The combination of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the way we think, work, and live. New career opportunities are emerging, with traditional ones transforming or risk getting eliminated.
