OAKVILLE, ON (September 29) – The University of Toronto Mississauga Varsity Eagle’s men’s soccer team couldn’t handle the Sheridan Bruins (3-2) second half surge, falling 2-0. With the loss UTM falls to last place in the standings (1-3-1).

The division is very tight knit beginning the 2015 campaign. Even though they’ve fallen to 6th place, they’re only a couple wins away from making their way into second place – Catching the undefeated Humber college is a hefty feat for any team this year.

Last time UTM took on Sheridan College their 2-0 loss was seen a positive, since Sheridan is the reigning 2014 champions. Hoping for a better result last night, the players are still confident they’re capable of achieving, “I've seen an improvement with our ability to move the ball up and around the field faster, and smoother than at the start of the season.” Says UTM goalkeeper Jacob Monaco.

“We have to be patient and disciplined in trusting our system and not panicking because they score. In the end we have to be physical, we have to be hungry for the win and as a team we have to acknowledge that if we correct our mistakes from the previous two games we can definitely get the desired result against them.” Says UTM striker Giovanni McDonald.

The Varsity Eagles take on Niagra (2-2-1) on October 4th at UTM on the North Field.
