TORONTO, ON (September 23) – The University of Toronto Mississauga Varsity Eagles Women’s soccer team played a hard-fought battle against Seneca College. Unfortunately, hard fought wasn’t good enough falling 3-0; now holding a 0-1-2 record this season.

Hilda Chmait scored what would eventually be the game-winning goal ten minutes into the first half.

“We've now allowed an early goal in three games and while conceding a goal against such strong opposition is likely, I would like for us to keep it tighter through the first half to put the pressure on our opponents.” Says UTM head coach Damian Yearwood.

Seneca’s Mariam El-Masri dampened the hopes of the UTM women when she scored a minute before the first half ended. Then, minutes into the second frame Peta-Gay Burrell concluded the scoring for the evening.

Even though the Women have yet to win a game, they are beginning to adjust to the pace and previous lack of time on the ball, which is building confidence.
