UTM vs. Seneca Men's Soccer Game Recap - Sept 23rd, 2015

UTM Men's Soccer v. Seneca

TORONTO, ON (September 23) – The University of Toronto Varsity Eagles men’s soccer team came up with their first every OCAA victory against Seneca College, defeating them 3-1 giving them a 1-2-1 record on the season.

Head Coach Robert Brown attributes some of the teams new found success and improvement from the new formula he has brought to his teams game play, “We tweaked our formation from the last week and I believe that helped contribute to the better success.” Says Brown.

Now with a win under the team’s belt they can build off this confidence and increase their spot in the standings, “My expectations for this season would be to get to Provincials. Having seen some of the talent in indoor last year I know that we can be very competitive and push for a spot in the provincials.” Says Brown.

Opposite to what they’ve seen from previous games, UTM scored in the opening minutes of the game when Gio McDonald notched his first goal of the season.

Storming right back was Seneca, scoring in the 15th minute off the boot of Felix Nigha.

Seneca couldn’t handle the UTM attack after their comeback goal, conceding two more to UTM’s Nolan Anderson and Kojo Frimpong.

Pleased with their performance on the day the Varsity Eagles look to extend their success against the undefeated Humber College on September 27th on the North Field.
