UTM vs. Seneca College Women's Soccer Game Recap - Oct 18th, 2015

UTM Varsity Women's Soccer

MISSISSAUGA, ON (OCTOBER 18) – The University of Toronto Mississauga Varsity Eagles women’s soccer team couldn’t get themselves on the scoreboard Sunday afternoon, falling to Seneca College 5-0.

Seneca advances to 5-2-2 in the Central division sitting in 3rd place poised for a playoff position. UTM stays at the bottom of the division, winless in its nine games this year.

The Eagles gave up the game-winning goal three minutes in when Mariam El-Masri netted her team leading 10th goal of the season.

Even though the Eagles came away with two shots on target they made important plays and showed signs of strength which proves they're improving. “We were down 2-0 in the first half but had so many great counterattacks that aren’t recorded on paper.” Says Vanessa Cesario, UTM midfielder.

The Eagles have come away with great performances this season but haven’t had anything to show for it on the scoreboard. The experience the women gained this season is invaluable heading into next season.

UTM will play their last game of the season when they travel to Niagara College on October 20th.
