This 4-day intensive course is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the core principles of anatomy, exercise science, program design methods, and gym safety. This course offers a hands-on, practical approach to learning the fundamentals required to become more confident in the gym, create effective workouts, and assist others achieve their fitness goals.
Each day combines classroom instruction with interactive workshops, giving learners the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. Students are expected to change into athletic attire and be physically active during workshops.
By the end of the course, participants will have a clear understanding of the personal training profession and be well-prepared to pursue full certification. To obtain the Canfitpro Personal Training Specialist Certification, participants must hold a valid CPR certification, successfully complete both a written and practical examination with a minimum score of 80%, and pay all associated fees. Both examinations must be completed within six months of the course. Meeting these requirements is also mandatory for participants who wish to apply to the Student Personal Training Mentorship Program.
This program is open to all registered University of Toronto students and community members.
