RGASC Professional Development Grant
This grant provides financial support for RGASC Writing and Math / Science Instructors to present at an academic skills-based conference or a pedagogical session of a discipline-specific conference.
One RGASC Professional Development Grant worth $500.00 will be awarded each year on a competitive basis. The annual deadline for applications is April 30.
Recipients of the RGASC Professional Development Grant will need to submit original receipts for their travel expenses and will be reimbursed afterwards. View the U of T Travel Expense Policy for details.
All CUPE 3902 Unit 3 RGASC Writing and Math / Science Instructors are eligible to apply.
To be eligible for funding, the instructor’s presentation must focus on one or more of the following areas of academic skill development:
- instruction in numeracy / scientific problem solving;
- academic writing and presentation skills; and/or
- general academic skills development (time management, note-taking, multiple-choice test preparation, critical reading, TA training, etc.).
Assessment of Applications
Applications for the RGASC Professional Development Grant will be assessed in terms of the relevance of the research or presentation to the RGASC’s mandate: to assist faculty and staff in their teaching and to support students in their learning. We are particularly interested in projects that involve collaboration with RGASC and other UTM faculty or staff.
Applicants must submit the RGASC Professional Development Grant application form before April 30 to be considered for a grant.
