Backpack to Briefcase: Women and Financial Literacy

Close up of calculator and stacks of coins

Tuesday, September 20, 2016
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
University of Toronto Mississauga
Deerfield Hall, Room 2060

A study by Statistics Canada reveals that Canadian women trail behind men in financial literacy and have less confidence in their ability to manage their finances. How can women close this gap and what influences the way women earn, manage and invest their money differently from men?

This Backpack to Briefcase brings you face-to-face with a panel of successful and knowledgeable alumnae from the financial sector to share their experience and insight as we explore the relationship between gender and finance.

This event is open to U of T Mississauga students and alumni of all genders.

Registration is closed.

Panel:

Tanya Kirsch, Department of Management, University of Toronto Mississauga
Candice Jay (HBA 2007), Vice President, Pembroke Private Wealth Management Ltd.
Shalini Dharna (BCom 2007), Owner, Dharna CPA Professional Corporation
Jess Mann (BCom 1991), Chief Operating Officer, Mantralogix

Complimentary refreshments will be served. Backpack to Briefcase is presented in partnership with the University of Toronto Mississauga Alumni Association.

Proudly sponsored by the University of Toronto's Affinity PartnersTD Insurance, University of Toronto MasterCard Program and Manulife.
