Ziyaad Vahed has worked as a policy advisor with the Ontario government for the last 12 years. He has developed policy across different ministries including the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Education. Currently, he is supporting the government's renewed vision to modernize and transform education by defining the 21st Century learner and implementing the government's commitment to spending $150 million to integrate cutting edge technologies, teaching and learning into the classroom. His other accomplishments include improving the apprenticeship system, developing a performance appraisal system for school principals and vice-principals and creating a tax credit that encourages farmers to donate fresh produce to food banks and student nutrition programs.
