Rebecca Sloan (HBA 2013)

Employee Communications, UPS Canada

Rebecca Sloan graduated from the Communication Culture and Information Technology program in 2013 and entered the workforce as an associate manager with one of Canada’s top retailers, Aritzia. In 2014, Sloan began her career with United Parcel Services as a premium sales associate to learn about the shipping business and supply chain logistics, and was soon promoted to account manager. In 2015, she landed her dream job and joined the marketing department as an internal communications specialist. Today, she helps pave the way for greater employee engagement while supporting multiple departments within the organization to reach their target audiences. Rebecca is a passionate individual and is heavily involved in multiple UPS committees including: United Way, JDRF, Global Volunteer Month, Millennial BRG, and the marketing group’s employee relations committee.

During her time at UTM, Sloan spent two years living on campus, and was involved in the Red Cross group and United Nations group. These experiences helped shape her decision to pursue a career in communications. The CCIT program helped Sloan strengthen her team work, networking and creative skills. Working for Aritzia, a large retailer with high volume traffic assisted her development in business management strategies.

In her free time Sloan enjoys staying active through working out and practicing Moksha yoga.

Her journey is a unique one that she loves to share. Sloan looks forward to mentoring, connecting, engaging and inspiring students.
