Carol Bisnath (BA 1991, MEd 2004)
Career Coach, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto
Carol Bisnath holds a Masters in Education with a specialization in Organizational Development/Career Management from the University of Toronto. Her professional expertise includes career counselling, career coaching, and assessments. Bisnath is certified to administer and interpret a wide range of assessment tools, including personality measures, career interest inventories, human resource instruments, and leadership development instruments.
Bisnath has TESL Ontario and TESL Canada certifications. For the past 7 years, she has taught a variety of courses at Humber College and Sheridan, including Bbusiness, career management, and ESL for foreign-trained professionals.
Bisnath has provided consulting services to Humber’s Co-op & Work Placement Services by matching students with jobs in their fields of study and coordinating employer/student networking events, and facilitated a series of professional development workshops for faculty at Humber College.
As the career counsellor and coach at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, Bisnath provides support to undergraduate medical students for self assessment, career exploration, specialty decision-making, residency selection and presentations and workshops.
She holds human resources certifications from both Ryerson University and The Institute of Canadian Bankers. Bisnath has over 12 years experience in the corporate banking world where she assumed a variety of progressive leadership roles within the bank’s operations, including retail, commercial, corporate human resources and training divisions. Bisnath implemented inititatives for career management, stress management, workplace wellness and healthy workplace activities, and leadership development.
Bisnath is a member of the following organizations: University of Toronto Mississauga Alumni Association President, Association of Career Professionals (ACP), Canadian Career Information Association (CCIA), and the Canadian Association of College & University Student Services (CACUSS.)
