About Me
When I graduated from the University of Toronto Mississauga, my work experience was limited and I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Through trial and error, volunteering, reaching out to professionals for guidance, and self-reflection, I have learned how to navigate career uncertainty with resilience and I want to help others do the same.
Mentorship can be a powerful tool for learning and growth. While completing my Master of Teaching, I was mentored by four different teachers. Not only did I learn how to handle the challenges of working in a classroom on a daily basis, but their guidance transformed my instructional practices.
Empowering students is at the heart of my work whether I am working inside and outside of the classroom. Over the last eight years, I have had the privilege of working with students of all ages in a variety of educational environments. Before working as an Elementary School Teacher, I was a Career Advisor and advised U of T students on career exploration, job search strategies, and graduate school in one-on-one and group settings. This experience solidified my dedication to student-centered education and shaped my approach to mentorship.
As a mentor, I listen to and understand my mentee's aspirations to provide tailored guidance and resources. From there, I strive to help my mentee reflect on and use their strengths, interests, and values to create a plan of action to achieve their personal, academic, and/or career goals.
