Program Details
Summer ACE Program
Newly admitted students who have not met UTM English language proficiency requirement will be offered the Summer ACE@UTM program as a condition of their admission. This is a full-time Academic English Language program offered over the 8-week period. It is designed to prepare students for academic studies in September.
Scholarships
We are proud to offer scholarships to successful Summer ACE students. The Scholarship Committee will select students who have achieved the highest grades in the program, and who demonstrated excellent attendance and engagement.
The value of the scholarship will be credited to the recipient's ACORN account, and will be applied toward the recipient's tuition fees for the upcoming Fall-Winter session.
Program Options
We highly recommend the Summer ACE@UTM program for most students as it allows them to complete the language requirements prior to beginning their academic studies in September. Currently we offer two options:
- All-Inclusive ACE
- Basic ACE

Which option is right for me?
Successful completion of either option will help you clear the English language requirement on your offer of admission.
All ACE students will have the opportunity to develop wonderful friendships with new peers in the classroom, and socialize during a variety of co-curricular activities.
While all ACE students will study together in the classroom, we recommend the all-inclusive ACE option for a truly immersive experience of what it is like to study and live as a student at the University of Toronto Mississauga. The all-inclusive option offers additional social events as part of the residence experience, and residence student mentors who will lead you through activities, events, and answer any questions you may have about being a U of T student. Meal plans are also included in this option, so you never have to worry about what to eat while you're on campus!
Fostering these experiences with the fellow students and being around upper-year UTM students have proven to be extremely beneficial for students' success.
Academic English Course
- Successful completion of the Academic English Level 50 with a minimum final grade of B- or higher will require enrolment in the Fall-Winter ACE Program in order to advance, and complete the Academic English Level 60 course.
- Students placed in the Level 60 course during the Summer must achieve a B average or higher to satisfy their English Language Requirements.
