Research interests: global governance, global environmental politics, international political economy, globalization and internationalization of public policy and international institutions. Publications include, The Compromise of Liberal Environmentalism (Columbia University Press, 2001); Global Liberalism and Political Order: Toward a New Grand Compromise?, co-edited with Louis W. Pauly (SUNY Press, 2007) and refereed articles in European Journal of International Relations, Canadian Journal of Political Science, Global Environmental Politics, Policy Sciences, and Journal of International Law and International Relations, as well as a number of book chapters in edited volumes. His current research focuses on the problem of legitimacy in global governance.
