September 7, 2001 to October 12, 2001 - Library Project Committee comprised of librarians, faculty, students and staff from UTM and U of T. - On hold until funding received in 2003.
April 7, 2003 to September 5, 2003 - Reactivated Library Project Committee
May 2003 - SuperBuild funding received for new Academic Learning Centre at UTM
September 5, 2003 - Final Report of the Project Committee for the Academic Learning Centre at the University of Toronto at Mississauga released.
September 2003 - Selection of Shore, Tilbe, Irwin and Partners as the architects for the Academic Learning Centre. - Andrew Frontini , Design Architect, Frank Park, Project Architect and D'Arcy Arthurs, Principal in Charge.
October 6, 2003 - Implementation meeting for newly reconstituted Library Project Committee comprised of core members of the Library Project Committee, the architects from Shore, Tilbe and Irwin, the UTM Project Manager, and the ALC Project Manager.
October 30, 2003 - Governing Council Approval
October 2003 to January 2004 - Schematic Design Development - preliminary design of building and basic layout of each floor decided.
December 18, 2003 - First U of T Design Review Committee Meeting - A. Frontini, representing Shore Tilbe Irwin and Partners Architects presented the project addressing matters related to the Campus Master Plan, massing and the interface with the CCIT building.
January 22, 2004 - the original Library Project Committee met to meet the architects and hear a presentation about the new building.
February 2004 to July 2004 Design Development Phase - detailed layouts of each floor as well as the interior and exterior finishes for the building decided by the ALC Design Committee.
March 10, 2004 - Second U of T Design Review Committee Meeting - architects respond to suggestions made at the previous DRC meeting.
May 2004 to August 2004 - Contract Documents Phase - contract documents developed with more and more detail until the 100% version that goes out to tender.
August 4, 2004 - Third U of T Design Review Meeting - architects respond to suggestions made at the previous DRC meeting.
August 19, 2004 - ALC Project Committee Sign-off on the plans so that the construction documents can go to tender.
August 24, 2004 - Construction tender sent out to prospective construction companies.
November 2004 - Official Ground Breaking Ceremony.
November 2004 to June 6, 2006 - Construction Phase.
2005 - Detailed plans drawn up for the move to the new building.
Summer 2006 - Furniture selections made.
2006 - ALC open to the public.
